Andy Homeyer holds the prestigious Graduate Realtor Institute designation. As a licensed Realtor ®, he is a member of both the Athens Area Association of Realtors (Athens MLS) and the Georgia MLS covering Atlanta and most of north Georgia. As well he is a licensed Associate Broker. Andy is a member of the Million Dollar Club and was voted the Top Realtor in the Athens area in both the 2007 and 2008 Athens-Banner Herald Reader’s Choice Awards.
Andy was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. He attended the University of Georgia and received a BBA degree from the nationally renown Terry College of Business. While at Georgia, Andy lettered on the UGA tennis team that won 3 SEC Championships during his tenure. He’s been back in Athens almost 10 years.
Andy has a masters degree that enabled him, among other things, to do counseling for over 20 years. He and his wife, Dana, have lived in Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, and British Columbia (Canada).
In his transition back into the business sector, Andy was employed by Wachovia Securities as a financial consultant where he did financial and retirement planning, and investment in stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and annuities. As well, he was licensed to sell a wide range of insurance products. Andy held the Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses. He participated in estate planning with several multi-million dollar portfolios.
Andy has been married to his wife, Dana, for over 28 years, and together they have 3 children. The Homeyers have lived in Oconee County, a bedroom community of Athens, since 1998 and have come to appreciate the benefits of living in a medium-sized metropolitan area. They love to walk their dogs and are constantly upgrading landscape projects. Andy is a novice beekeeper, plays tennis (and guitar), and especially enjoys creating landscape plans for his clients (at no charge!) Cheering the Georgia Bulldogs at football games and tennis matches is an established way-of-life. Dana is a registered nurse at the local health department and especially loves to use her decorating talents in their home. Both Andy and Dana enjoy mentoring students, singles, and young marrieds.
Andy began his real estate career managing commercial properties that his grandfather had owned throughout north Georgia. His focus is on Residential, Land, Commercial and Investment real estate.
Andy is a member of the Oconee County Rotary Club and is often at home as the fearsome Sheriff (Sergeant-at-Arms) where he pokes good-natured fun at his fellow Rotary members. He really likes the Rotary motto: “Service above self.”
Andy's Values
- Serving people is the highest calling, other than loving God, that we have on this earth.
- Money is a tool, that enables us to build wealth, and in turn offer benefit to mankind.
- If it’s a choice between making money and doing what’s best for the client, there really is no choice at all.
- Regular communication is the key to a realtor building good relationships. Andy lives by the “sundown rule”: The day is not done until the last phone call is made or returned.
